FLEXIBLE HOUSING IN FULFILL THE SPACE NEEDS OF OCCUPANTS

Abstract

The concept of flexible housing has become a priority in several countries and even various studies for the purpose, philosophy and benefits of this concept in long term have been conducted thoroughly. However, in Malaysia, the concept of flexible housing is still new and lacks research or implementation. Therefore, this paper discusses the concept of flexible housing in terms of purpose, philosophy and benefits based on external studies, precedent study of long-term housing projects in Japan and also get the views of Malaysians citizen on the implementation of flexible housing in Malaysia.
